⚠️ If you assign yourself first to the project, then you cannot ask for Travel Fees after. Travel fees need to be requested before assigning.
Open the Project's detail panel on the map — travel fee requests are only available in areas with few Creators nearby
Tap Apply with Travel Fees if the button is active
3. Enter the travel fee amount that covers your costs for this Project
4. Confirm with Request fee — your request is logged and reviewed by the Ocus team within 48 hours
5. Track your request status in the Travel Fee Requests tab of the My Projects list
Important
✅ Always manage your request from the Travel Fee Requests tab.
❌ Do not go back to Browse, find the Project, and Claim the project directly.
If you do, a pop-up will appear asking you to assign yourself without travel fees = Confirming this cancels your travel fee request and assigns you to the project at the standard price, without compensation.
6. If your request is granted, another Creator claims the Project with a lower request, OR Ocus makes you a counterproposal, you'll be notified by email at every step
7. If you receive a counterproposal → accept or decline it directly from the Project page
8. What happens next:
You accept → you're assigned to the Project at the agreed price (standard price + travel fee). The Project is removed from the map for other Creators.
You decline → you're not assigned. The Project stays available for other Creators. Your travel fee request is closed.
Another Creator accepts first → your counterproposal is automatically cancelled. You receive an email notification.
A counterproposal never expires — it stays valid until you respond or another Creator takes the Project first.
Why is my boost lower after claiming a Project?
When you submit a travel fee request, the following values are locked in at that exact moment:
Your Creator price
Your Creator price boost — if one is active at that moment (the boost is not always applied)
Your requested travel fee amount
This is your committed total — the amount Ocus pays you based on the values at the time you submit.
The live boost may change after you submit, but it does not affect your payment. Your total stays based on the Creator price, boost, and travel fee locked in when you claimed the Project.
Example: you submit when your Creator price is €37, your boost is €4, and your travel fee is €10. Your total = €37 + €4 + €10 = €51. Even if the boost later increases to €11, your payment remains €51.
If the total shown doesn't match what you accepted at submission, reach out, and we'll check it.

The project has pre-set date(s), and you have not chosen one.
Or you already have a pending request on this Project.
Button is not available
Creator supply is already sufficient in the area, or you are located within 20km of the project's address.
No response after 48 hours
Check the "Travel Fee Requests" tab — your request may have moved to a counterproposal.
